The
Airpura P600 UV PCO air purifier has
no equal. Photocatalytic Oxidization (PCO)
creates non-ozone oxidizers that break down VOC's
and odors 1.5 times better than ozone, but unlike
ozone, will not irritate the lungs. The P600 is
basically a Airpura UV600 with a special catalyst
around the UV lamp which creates these special
oxidizers. Just like the UV600, the P600
adds 30,000 microwatt's of UVGI germicidal power
to eradicate 99%+ of viruses, mold, and bacteria
that pass through the machine. Rather than place
the 20 Watt, 17" UVC
lamp on the air outlet, Airpura engineers placed
it inside the filter compartment to keep the filters
mold, virus, and bacteria free as well. This is
one of the few UL listed UV air purifiers as well. With
many "next
generation" features, 18lbs of carbon
and 40 sq. ft of medical grade HEPA, the Airpura

Airpura "Next
Generation" Features:
Unobstructed air flow.
Air is allowed to move freely through the filters without
changing directions which created turbulence and limits
true CFM ability. Result: Improved CFM. Noise reduction.
Great unit for MSC sufferers. A
one piece motor and fan assembly .eliminates the vibration
associated with traditionally designed fans that are
attached to the motor shaft with screws. More importantly,
the fan-motor is outside of the air flow, unlike other
air cleaners, which prevents off-gassing. The Airpura's
special Swiss made motor is smaller and quieter than
any other motor on the market as well. It features a
variable speed fan allows you to choose the perfect speed
/ noise level. Separate electrical part chambers also
prevents off-gassing from capacitors, condensers or switches.
Pressure Sealed Body. Airpura's
unique pressure sealing of the filter chamber ensures
that all of the air passes through the air cleaning systems
filters. Other machines allow leakage and thus do not
actually achieve the full 99.97% HEPA filtration rating,
especially plastic store bought HEPA machines.
Steel
construction. No outgassing from ABS plastic.
Also, felt gaskets seals in the filter chamber to maximize
filtration without using rubber gaskets to further
limit off-gassing.
Larger Carbon Canister. Airpura
units feature 18-26 lbs of carbon due to the 2 to
3 inch deep carbon canister. More carbon means more
odor, VOC, and chemical abatement capabilities.
Warm rolled HEPA media. Eliminates
cracking and tearing of HEPA media and guarantees
higher filtration efficiency.
Superior Pre-filter design. 360
degree air intake, pre-filter can be vacuumed from
outside the unit. Extends life of HEPA and Carbon
filters.
UV bulb placement. The UV-600 model
features a U shaped UV lamp that is placed in the
center of the filter compartment where the UV germicidal
waves can sterilize the filtered air and also kill
the microorganisms that become trapped in the filter
media.

Best: Airpura I-600.
This unit utilizes an oversized HEPA filter with
100 sq. ft. of hospital grade warm rolled HEPA filter
media packed with 10 pleats per inch. This along
with the superior 560 CFM capacity for puts the I-600
in a league of it's own when it comes to particle
removal capabilities. This filter cost $179.00 and
will last 3 to 5 years depending on how diligent
you are at cleaning the pre-filter.
If you're looking for removal
of tobacco smoke, chemicals and VOC's:
Best: Airpura C-600
and T-600 which utilize a 3" deep, 26 lbs. bed
of regular blend carbon or specialty enhanced carbon
(optional) to effectively remove over 4000 different
types of chemicals and VOC's from the air.
If
you're looking for removal airborne mold, bacteria,
and viruses:
Best: Airpura
UV6000 which utilizes a 20 watt U shaped UV lamp
in the filter chamber. Other UV HEPA machines have
the UV lamp outside of the filter area where they
cannot kill the viruses, mold, and bacteria that
gets trapped in the filter media. This UV lamp has
17 inches of germicidal surface, two times the length
of other makes and 2 times as effective.
