Unlike department
store HEPA machines which are made
out of off-gasing PVC plastic, feature HEPA filters
surrounded by PVC plastic
and are held together by PVC plastic mesh and glue that
off-gasses harmful substances into the air, the Amaircare
2500 air purifier uses 100% non off-gassing material
inside and out. The HEPA filter has integrated seals
at the top and bottom so you get true HEPA filtration.
(Compare to other HEPA filters) The Amaircare 2500 comes with a carbon matt fitler (Same material as the carbon cloth used by Airpura and Austin Air Allergy Machine) but the nice thing about this unit is that it can be upgraded to a VOC carbon canister for only $57.50. (Our recomendation) Our in-house IAQ expert recommends you inject ozone into this (and all) carbon HEPA machines via a silicone tube in order to rejuvinate the carbon and improve the VOC and chemical abatement capablities. The Amaircare 2500 filtration
system consists of:
- A washable pre-filter that can be used again and again.
- 50 sq. ft of True HEPA filter checked at the factory to ensure you're getting True HEPA 99.97% particle reduction at .3 microns. The HEPA filter lasts up to 5 years under normal conditions.
- Zeolite VOC Carbon Matt filter to remove harmful VOC's that outgas from carpets, paints, furniture, etc. Optional Zeolite/Carbon canister filter (8lbs of carbon) for superior VOC and odor removal capabilities.

This is a great HEPA machine for open areas up to 750 sq ft. Because filters can be changed independently, you won't face a situation where you're HEPA air cleaner is running with fully clogged carbon that is putting contaminants back into the environment. Realistically you'll want to change your carbon filter annually.
